We just returned from the American Star
Ball Competition in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and our results are
oustanding! We had 56 entrees: we placed in all dances with 44 1st
Place, 11 2nd Place, and one 3rd place. Our Exhibition Team took first
in their showcase routines and had a judge-requested encore
performance. We are very tired and very happy -- thank you dancers and
parents!
Meals on Wheels Dance-a-thon, March 2007: fundraising event at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center on March 1. Meals on Wheels is a local charity providing hot meals for homebound seniors. The Ballroom Blitz exhibition team performed at the dance-a-thon.
Summer Showcase, June 2007: The Ballroom Blitz dancers hosted a luncheon and performed beautifully for our guests at the St. Peter's Episcopal Church Parish Hall in Lewes for our 3rd Annual Summer Showcase. We have outgrown these small venues, so expect our next show to be on a grander scale!
Lewes Christmas Parade, December 2006: The Ballroom Blitz joined the parade for the first time this year. Our dancers rode along, and partway through the junior ballroom team jumped off the float to perform a Christmas swing routine!
Summer Showcase, June 2006: The Ballroom Blitz members hosted a party and performed for our guests at The Rusty Rudder in our 2nd Annual Summer Showcase. Each class performed their genre, and some of our newlywed couples re-enacted their wedding dances as well...
American Legion, May 2006: Following our successes at the Philadelphia DanceSport Ballroom Competition, the Lewes chapter of the American Legion invited our exhibition team to perform. Our junior ballroom team members also performed a demonstration.
Philadelphia DanceSport Ballroom Competition, April 2006: The Ballroom Blitz exhibition team was invited to perform a showcase routine, performing a fusion of ballroom and urban dance. Our junior ballroom competitors earned first place in each entry! Jr. division: 12 first place awards. Adult division: 22 first place, 11 second place. The Ballroom Blitz received studio honors.
Performance at Fish On!, 2005: our dancers provided entertainment during a fashion show.
Summer Showcase, 2005: the first summer showcase party for The Ballroom Blitz, Ms. Deni's new studio centred in Lewes, DE.
